Installation and Care

  • Find out why the old turbo failed before installing the new one. Oil starvation or contaminated oil will destroy the replacement the same way.
  • Change the engine oil and filter. Flush or replace the oil feed line.
  • Prime the turbo with clean oil before first startup. Crank the engine with fuel disabled until oil pressure builds.
  • The VGT actuator is mounted and calibrated - plug in and go. Do not swap actuators between units.
  • Idle for several minutes after installation to establish oil pressure and check for leaks before applying load.
  • Ships with mounting gaskets. Torque fasteners to the Cummins service manual spec.
